At Adventures into History, students don't study the past from a distance.

They step into the pressures, choices, and consequences that shaped the world they've inherited.

Meet Ed West

Ed West has been teaching humanities to homeschool and charter school students since 2010, not because it was a career path, but because he genuinely believes history changes how young people see the world. A lifelong traveler who has spent time in Cameroon, Bhutan, Spain, and nearly five years living in Scotland (where he met his wife Cindy), Ed brings a rare firsthand sense of how differently people across time and place have understood power, freedom, and what it means to live a good life. He and Cindy homeschooled their three children, and their grown kids occasionally contribute their copywriting and film and editing skills to the work. Ed's classes are built around storytelling and Socratic discussion, and his students tend to leave not just knowing more history, but thinking more clearly. That's the point.

Teaching live online and in person in San Juan Capistrano on Mondays and Wednesdays. Live online sessions also available Thursdays.
